The Scott City R-I Board of Education met in regular session on January 16, 2013.
The Board conducted the following business.
- The Board listened to a proposal from The Printing Co. concerning starting an on-line store for the sale of school spirit products. Company representatives Mike Strom and David Likens informed the board of some of the benefits of an on-line store such as brand consistency, convenience, and free warehousing. The Board was told the site would contain real time inventory, would accept major credit cards/paypal, and would ship anywhere.
- Superintendent Diann Ulmer reviewed the 1st Semester attendance rates for the District. The overall District rate was 95.39% with the elementary at 95.4%, the middle school at 95.68%, and the high school at 95.13%. Current enrollment K-12 was reported to be 855 students.
- The Board certified the ballot for the April 2 election. There are two three-year terms available. The candidates are Gary Elders, Bobby Underwood, and Lisa Schaefer.
- The Board approved a policy update regarding employee safety requirements.
In Closed Session, there was no action taken.
