News from high school Art teacher, Mr. Conaway:

GREAT NEWS FOR SCOTT CITY HIGH SCHOOL ART! It is an honor to have any piece of high school artwork accepted into the Southeast Missouri State University's High School Art Symposium. I am excited to announce that Scott City High School had SIX pieces accepted this year. This is not an easy task given the incredible complexity and quality of artwork in this show. Zoe, Chloe, Alexys (Alexys had two pieces chosen), Heather, and Haley all have artwork in the show. Alexys earned an honorable mention in the sculpture category for her piece entitled "Marcus Theater Popcorn Dress", Heather earned 2nd place in photography for her piece entitled "Daisy", and Chloe earned 2nd place in painting for her piece entitled "Eternal Love".

I am extremely happy for the success of these young artists and proud of all of my hard working art students! The show runs from now until March 17th, at the Crisp Museum located inside the SEMO River Campus. Admission is free to all during museum hours.
