IDEAS FOR HELPING YOUR CHILD--During our DRAs in December, it was I found that students are not fluent when reading aloud. When giving this assessment, if students don't reach an oral reading fluency goal (speed and accuracy), they cannot move up reading levels. Please encourage your child to read aloud to you a few times a week.  We are looking not only for speed, but accuracy.  Improving this skill, will help comprehension in all areas, as well as improving reading levels.
