Five Scott City High School seniors attended the Rotary Camp Enterprise seminar that was held at the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center on February 22, 2019. The Rotary International is a service organization of business and professional leaders. They have hosted the local Camp Enterprise seminar for local juniors/seniors for approximately 15 years.
Adrienne Ross was the keynote speaker for the event and spoke about how important proper communication, listening, and writing skills are in the real-world. A business professor from Southeast Missouri State University led the students in two icebreakers. Approximately 55 students from Cape Central, Delta, Notre Dame, Jackson, Perryville, Scott City, and Ste. Genevieve were divided into teams that would research a service project. Students made phone calls and conducted real-life marketing research to determine the demographics of their target market and included this information in their presentation. Teams then presented in front of various community business leaders to get feedback. Scott City student Chloe was one of the six students who was awarded a $500 scholarship!
